OMG i am so proud of my self. i lost 5.2 pounds i mean how cool is that i am so proud of my self. through out all of my time being at weight watchers i have never lost more than 4 pounds. So to loose 5 pounds in the FIRST WEEK, well that is just amazing i am super happy.

Day 8: Weigh in Greatness
Thursday, July 17, 2008 Posted by Alysha at 7:09 PM | Labels: book review, daily eating, Weight loss
♥So not a lot happened today, i got to sleep in for the first time in about a week or so, so that was quite enjoyable. So since i didn't go to campus today i didn't have to spend any money on food which a good thing because i am pinching pennies because i need to get my hair done and i am getting it done next week.
Tuesday Meals:
Breakfast: Bowl of Fruit(Bananas, strawberries, raspberries, and melon)
Lunch: Salad(lettuce, brocoli)
Tofutti ice cream sandwhich
Dinner: Phad Thai with Tofu-No egg
Work out: Thirty minutes on the elliptical, and forty minutes on the bike, that is a good 5 weightwatcher activity points. GO ME. that makes it in the past week i have gone to the gym 5 days out of the past week.
----Oh i didn't have any soda today go me(that makes it about a week and a half now without soda), and this is my first official day without dairy i am doing a hell of a good job if ya ask me. i weigh in tomorrow so we will see how today worked out. i will post if i lost any weight this week. if i didn't i am sure it is because i had to many carbs and to many snacks after i had dinner. Wish me luck ya'll
-----And i started a new book today at the gym it is called "size 14 isn't fat either". It is the sequel to size 12 isn't fat, i will let ya'll know how it is. i have made many goals for myself this summer and one of them is try to read a book a week, more if i can. While i am at it i should write down my goals for the summer, or should i say the rest of the summer.
Goals:
♥Loose 20 pounds by the first day of fall term,
♥Not eat dairy, meat, and other bad things that they talk about in skinny bitch(ya'll should read it. This book changed my outlook on food)
♥Start to run again, i want to eventually train for a marathon/Half marathon at some point in the near future.
♥Go to the gym AT LEAST 5 times a week. (maybe twice a day i know i can as long as i don't sleep in like i have been lately, my bed is just so comfortable in the morning)
Day 6: Good reads, smelly men, and red robin
Posted by Alysha at 1:42 AM | Labels: Diet, red robin, size 12 is not fat, vegan
So today i believe i had one of my toughest moments going out to dinner. I went to one of my alltime favorite burger places, Red Robin. Yeah i ordered a drink, that yes had dairy in it but hey, it happens. anyways today while at the restaurant's, i had totally picked out what burger i was going to get and so on but i changed my mind, instead i got the soup and salad combo, with balsamic vinegar and chicken tortilla, yes chicken but i got the cheese and sour cream not on top of the soup, but the salad did have cheese on it so i had to pick around it which sucked because red robins balsamic is actually pretty good lol.
So that salad isn't exactly what i got but i got a small dinner salad and a cup of soup.
-Is it just me but being vegan makes it very hard to go to a restaurant and get something to eat, i feel like in the past couple days it has been very difficult. Today i was on campus and i had an hour break between classes so i decided to go to the Glenwood and see if the really lived up to their hippy veggie ways, so i order my food and first of all they are out of veggie burgers which sucked because i am sorry but boca burgers not really my favorite in the world, anyways. they brought out my food and it had cheese on it, when i even talked to the server about wanting to know about their vegan options lame. but..... all and all i do believe that my dining out has been more sucessful then i thought it was going to be because i think i am more prepaired for the vegan thing ya know.
Tuesday's Diet:
-Fruit bowl for lunch(Banana, Raspberries, Strawberry and melon)
-Boca Burger on a whole wheat bun for lunch with a side of melon
-I did have 1/4 of a red bull this morning because i had a test and i like to have caffein before a test because it makes me more alert.
-Lots of water
-Salad with balsamic
-Tortilla soup, trying to make it the least amount of dairy i can
-4 Red robin french fries
-tofu futtie bar (god those are to die for)
-nectorine
-Popcorn(cooked on the stove with some healthy vegan butter on it)
-more water
+ On a side note i did go to the gym today i only got half and hour work out in but still it felt good to just get that half an hour in. i did 35 minutes on the elliptical. (did 15 on one machine but the guy smelled so bad next to me i just had to switch machines lol)
+ Oh and i finished this book today called "Size 12 is Not fat" by Meg Cabot, it is this really cute murder mystery book about this girl who is an ex pop star that is working in a college dorm as an assistant director and she becomes this detective when girls in the dorm start showing up dead. it is a good quick great great for the summer months, a plane ride, or just lying in the sun.
So yeah it is late but still, I am procrastinating this whole homework world so i thought i would share how i am currently doing on this Vegan, "Skinny Bitch" diet.
Since Thursday, the day i went to good ol trust weight watchers. i officially began my no dairy, no meat diet, vegan diet. So far i feel good, i am saving money by not going to the chinese place down the street or stopping at the big town hero, to get my sandwich full of dairy and meat, and of course i had to add the soda and chips, both are called satin in Skinny bitch, so i am sure it didn't do any good for my ass. i wish i was able to put up a calender on here so i could be like yup today i didn't have soda, GO ME, today i didn't have dairy, GO ME. ya know so i will just have to explain my doings, just as a keeping me on track thing i am sure all of you don't care but i want to prove to my self that i can do this. Most diets and weightwatcher included, i start then stop then start again, basically a YO YO diet and for once i want to prove to myself and others that i can do this and i can loose the weight, and be skinny again.
so for the past week i am just going to try to recall what kind of good i consumed and weather or not i worked out.
Wednesday:I had some drinks at the bar, yeah i had pizza, and yeah i had a nasty hot dog from 7 eleven maybe not one of my finest moments but maybe that is why the scale was so high the next day, maybe all the nasty dairy and alcohol i had left in my system from the night before. lol
Thursday:Went to weight watchers and weighed in, i had a smoothie from odwalla, i had a bubble milk tea maybe that wasn't the smartest thing but i had a tofu yakisoba noodle and sushi for lunch, and for dinner i had baked potatoe with all good toppings that are healthy and Skinny bitch friendly. but the only dairy i consumed was in the milk tea, i really gotta stop getting those if i do i need to get the green tea flavored ones (i just can't seem to stay away from those gosh darn tapioca bubbles.)
Friday: I fell f the wagon again i had nachos at the bar, but still i had been drinking all day, also not a very good idea lol maybe i should cut back. but i had no dairy, but some egg got put in my Phad Thai so i had to pick around that and so i am sure that i got some of that dairy inside of me.
Saturday: did the best so far that i have done, i went to the gym and did 60 minutes of cardio, air no dairy, and made smart decisions as to what i was putting into my body. can't remember the exacts of what i ate but i am pretty sure it was fruits and veggies and such.
Sunday: Sunday i had a banana before i went to work, had some phad thai again i had to pick through the egg because i forgot to tell her not to put it in, but i had a good healthy dinner with devin of pasta and salad. I found this really good salad dressing by annies nauturals it is the italian one they where out of Goddess at the store so it was the one that looked the best, tried it and it was amazing. Oh and i hit the gym for another 60 minutes, racking up those activity points for the week.
Monday:(technically yesterday) had a fruit bowl for breakfast, a whole wheat bagel with soy cream cheese, bubble tea, salad, Toast with jam(all natural jam i have to say no sugar), few bites of a vegan dish they made for everyone that was pretty good, and lots and lots of H2O
It wasn't just today of drinking lots and lots of water. since i have cut soda and coffee out of my diet water has become such a key ingredient to my diet and it is so refreshing to put some ice cubes in it and feel the great cold water down your throat. (boy i sound psycho) but the craving for that bubble that comes from soda still has yet to go away, i haven't had soda since last Sunday. GO ME i am sure i will loose a good amount of weight just by cutting that out of my life. lol boy i sure know what a sorta addiction is because i definitely crave that sugary carbonation. I guess i have talked whoevers reading this ears off.
<3loves<3
On a side note tomorrow is going to be the true test of my strength my best friend turns 21 today and we are going to red robin for dinner and i A. i have no idea what to order B. boy do i love those fries C. Boy do i love their burgers D. And those strawberry lemonaids. what is a girl to do!
Day 3:Trying new things
Saturday, July 12, 2008 Posted by Alysha at 3:07 PM | Labels: cafe yumm, Diet, Skinny bitch, vegan
So i was thinking the other day about this book that i had read called "Skinny Bitch" about being vegan and how it helps you create a healthier lifestyle and essentially will make you skinny. I had been thinking about it, and totally wanting to re-read this book, but i wasn't able to because i had let my friend borrow this book and i had not gotten it back. so me being me i went and bought another copy of it, i mean i have the cook book "Skinny Bitch in the Kitch" and it was essentially staring at me saying use me use me, but i didn't feel right using it with out re-reading the main book. Well long story short i have recently re-read the book and OMG it has changed my outook on eating and how i buy my groceries, granted it has been less than a week but still it has changed my out look.
I am so proud of my self i haven't eaten meet since Wednesday, i had a little mishap, i went out to the bars and i had the grossest kind of meat one can get, a hot dog from 7 eleven, ha ha what can i say i was drunk and hungry lol. Dairy i think is going to be the hardest thing to take out of my diet because everything and it's mom has dairy in it, i mean eve buying those frozen veggie burgers they generally have milk,.cheese or egg in them and those three things are not vegan friendly. But i am going to try.Now i know that i have sworn off cafe yumm so many different times i have recently changed my mind because it is the easiest place to get vegan friendly food, you can substitute so many things and make it to your dietary needs it is amazing minus the yumm sauce i don't know what it is but it just tastes nasty it is like baby food and since i used to work there and smell the nasty yumm sauce i am still completely turned away from it. I had it for lunch/breakfast today and it was the perfect hang over cure, a good chilaien zuchini bowl, i know i didn't spell it right but oh was it delicious with a tofu skewer on the side delicious little lunch, for a vegan friendly diet.
First post in a while
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 Posted by Alysha at 4:41 PM | Labels: Sex and the city, Skinny bitchSo yessssss, it has been a while since i have posted any blogs but life has been so busy i don't actually know if anyone is reading this blog. But i figure i should update the one person out there that reads my blog lol.So in the recent hype of sex and the city populatirty i have been sucked into the greatness of the show. I mean i tried to watch it when i was younger, but at the time i couldn't find myself being able to relate to 30 year old women but as i get older i have become obsessed, i quote it, i talk about it. and i have even made it so my phone is sex and the citied out. i know i am obsessed but it is such a great thing. Ohhhhh how i love love love love it!
Oh and the Fergie song Love and Labels is just fabulous it is the opening song for the movie and i loved it when i saw the movie in the theater but now that i have bought it off iTunes it has been on repeat on both my iPod and iTunes combined, maybe i have a problem and i should get some help.
Another big thing that i have decided to do is try weight watchers again, i know that when i was on the program i didn't loose a ton of weight but it kept me on my toes with what my weight was instead of not really giving a shit about what i weigh ya know. So along with weight watchers i am going to attempt to follow the program of the book "Skinny Bitch" I have just fallen in love with this book and it has changed how i look at the world of food. Ya'll should definitely read it.
